Hi everyone! My name is Humna, and I’m so excited to be stepping into the role of your VP Student Life!
I’m going into my 4th year of nursing with Honors, and my role is all about listening to your voices,
planning fun and engaging events, and creating opportunities for everyone to connect with each other and our faculty. I’m here to support you, bring your ideas to life, and help make this year enjoyable and one to remember!

Vice President External
Shormy Das
Hello!! I'm Shormy, and I am your Co-VP for Student Life :). A little about myself is that I am now entering my 4th year (whoo!), I'm really into bouldering (but I cannot say I'm objectively good at it), and I am annoyingly into Spider-Man and Marvel. Back to business, as your VP Student Life, both Humna and I are involved in the non-academic aspects of NUA — fundraisers, social events, and little events throughout ECHA, etc. Our focus is promoting community; I hope that we can create affordable and entertaining events throughout the school year for everyone!

Media Manager
Adriana Guinto
Hi friends! I’m Adriana Guinto, a fourth-year nursing student at the University of Alberta and the Media Manager for the Nursing Undergraduate Association. With a background in communications and design, I love finding creative ways to tell our stories and bring the NUA community to life online. My goal is to make our platforms not only informative but fun, whether that’s promoting events, highlighting student experiences, or keeping everyone connected with clear, consistent updates. I’m excited to contribute to a supportive and vibrant environment where nursing students feel seen, heard, and celebrated. Don't hesitate to say hi when you see me around campus!

Official Delegate - Canadian Nursing Student Association (CNSA)
Joel Davidson
Hello, my name is Joel Davidson and I am the CNSA Official Delegate for the Fall25/Winter26 terms.
Some information to get to know me: I grew up on a farm 2.5 hours east of Edmonton, so I am very familiar with the rural scene. I graduated from E.H. Walter School (K-12) in Paradise Valley with a class of only 10 people (including myself and my twin brother - fraternal). I have an older brother and sister who are also twins. In my free time I mostly just hang out with friends, but I also enjoy playing intramural sports and binge-watching TV shows. I look forward to being a part of the NUA team this year and will do my best to spread awareness about the opportunities the CNSA has to offer.

During this final stretch of our journey, I’m here to ensure that your voice is heard when it comes to events and decisions that shape our last year. I will be putting together a Grad Committee, organizing the graduation banquet, grad photos, and making sure you all have a say in how we celebrate this huge milestone. Collaborative Forth Year Representative (Fall Preceptorship)

Collaborative Third Year Representative
Farah Elgaweesh
I am Farah Elgaweesh, and I am the third year representative for this year! I understand the importance of student-led advocacy and having a strong voice that can confidently and professionally speak up about concerns and represent others. While nursing is a truly rewarding program, it also presents unique challenges related to program placements, academic needs, and schedules that students need to be vocal about. Some of the concerns I heard from my peers relate to transparency related to academic accommodations, accessibility to support resources, scheduling conflicts, and course workload additions. I am so proud of all the students who came before me and spoke up about these concerns, and I hope to continue this great work by having the platform to connect with students, hear from them, and communicate with the faculty leadership and the NUA. Outside of school, I enjoy landscape and street photography and creating chalk art on sidewalks.

Collaborative Second Year Representative
Caitlin Govender
My name is Caitlin Govender, and I’m the representative for the second-year collaborative nursing program. A little about me, I’ve been playing piano for 14 years and still enjoy it in my free time. I also love spending time with my dog when I am home in BC. If you ever need to find me on campus, you can probably spot me at my favourite spot on campus, the ECHA library :) As your rep, I’m here to listen to your concerns and make sure your voices are heard within the Nursing Undergraduate Association. Please don’t hesitate to reach out at cgovende@ualberta.ca or on Instagram @caitlin.g23 :)
